R22 crash Prescott Airfield Aug 2 2016

Article in local paper, Arizona USA.
Better coverage here with audio from tower.
Callsign "Universal25"

A light helicopter crashed near the end of a runway at Prescott Municipal Airport, Tuesday, Aug, 2, sending the male pilot and a male passenger to the hospital with injuries.

Training flight:
"Witnesses reported seeing the helicopter fall from the sky at an estimated height of 50 feet. The aircraft suffered extensive damage as can be seen in the attached photos"

Photo shows machine on its side, and the damage to the rotors suggests to me that they were in low energy state. Skids ripped-off and a lot of belly damage. Tail chopped.

I don't think they'll rebuild that one...

Not sure how it is that a student from a different school can be practising things in his own time with a passenger on board.
