Must be a really amazing helicopter... so amazing in fact, that we still don’t know the actual performance:
Me: “what’s the HOGE @ISA, MTOM?”
AH: “yes”

TCDS is out both your answer are almost there. The FLM is available to many of the potential customer on NDA basis. But delivery rate is not very optimistic following the tradition since EC175.

TCDS... you working for AH? It answers my question in the same way... “hover... yes” “performance...yes”. If they didn’t put the FLM out to the public, it must be out of the charts. Probably below the chart me thinks.

Since when have any RFMs/FLMs been available to the general public? Hence there have been threads here with people asking for copies.

No need for FLM’s. At least give out the 3-4 critical performance charts like HOGE, HIGE, Cruise and fuel flow. They did that on the H145 no problem. A “secret” in the charts usually means cr*p.

Nice looking aircraft with exceptional avionics. Here is hoping the transmission doesn’t need maintenance inspections every 5 mins. I hope it succeeds.

Then just wait until 5 years later and you get a bulletin they no longer produce a certain part or avionics and good luck.

They should just get Leonardo to make their gearboxes for them. They wouldn't be so tall (look how high that thing is!) and they'd come out of the blocks with a 5000 hr life and PROVEN 30 minute run dry.

is the height of the H160 an issue of any sort?, if you can afford it, you can afford a 6 meter Tall hangar
they just priviledged the height in the cabin, and thus the mechanical assembly above get raised up.

I think the people in this video won't disagree with the benefit of a taller cabin

The gearbox isn’t that tall. The rotor mast was extended to improve the aerodynamics and ride quality.

Gendarmerie x 10

https://www.airbus.com/en/newsroom/p...ement-customer

The French Ministry of Interior orders ten H160 for the Gendarmerie. These will be equipped with a Safran Euroflir 410 electro-optical system, winching, and fast roping capabilities amongst others.

That little lot will make it heavy, especially with a minimum of a 4-man (more likely 6) assault team, fast roping booms, dispatcher etc etc.

Anyone know the max speed with the cabin doors open?
