For 4 senior Directors inclusive of “Europe’s CEO” to be fired (or let's just say forced resignation) suggests a collaborative offence rather than a single error of judgement. Head of Legal, Head of Finance and the Head himself does seem suspicious.

One can only speculate but the questions on everyone’s minds..

1) Linked to the Babcock/OHS/CMA saga
2) Customer contract / bidding wrongdoings
3) Accounts released last week with companies house, few days later, 4 directors are fired. Coincidental, just bad timing?
4) Other?

Maybe two reasons. The offences of the departing or the perverse mentality of the management.

He's a good mate and a great bloke. As 212man states, an experienced pilot both military/civil, and I believe he was union rep at one point.

Sounds like a sound and suitable candidate.
Unlikely to last long.

Ordinarily I'd agree wholeheartedly with this view ('unlikely to last long') but I would also note that everyone with power over him/ his position has been sacked which puts a good amount of power in his hands. Let's hope he lasts.

Steep learning curve for sure (and a huge payrise) but best of luck to him. The guys and girls on the ground will have the utmost respect for him and as he fully understands the business from the hangar floor up to the boardroom now, he should really do well to bridge that gap. Whether he has the corporate business brain with the pressure from Dallas we will wait and see.

Agreed, letís hope he gets the chance to make it permanent and it lasts.
