Typically is there much difference in weight between glass and mechanical instruments, the R44 is so sensitive to additional weight so far up front..

We have a Garmin 695 mounted on top of the "normal" gauges in our 44...doesn't seem to be a problem weight wise, it's been there for 700 hours !

I reckon it is the way forward, my mates with 66's will be jealous of the new toys available for their machines !

Very nice but why ? The R22 is a cheap and cheerful trainer, a three bladed head and proper flight controls would be more helpful

Better spend your money buying a real helicopter

Seriously, Robinson has its marketshare in a certain field ... a glass cockpit is nice to have but it just increases costs for the student/charterer. What for?

Or buy an iPad or mini 3G install anyone of a number of apps stick it in a holder and there you go a glass cockpit , and if you want really good pitch and roll I put get one of the Bluetooth gyros all in for less than a grand

Looks to me like they're worried about Bell's product.

Should Robinson ever receive EASA certification for the R66 (), i wonder whether it would get certified for NVFR as well with the Aspen Kit only (i.e. without a stand-by AI).

That looks quite sporty, almost like lookin at an early Jet banger in shape and dials.
