Uncomfortable........
I'm glad that chap (appears) to know what he's doing. Is it just me or does anyone else feel somewhat uncomfortable watching that video? Maybe it's just an illusion on the film but goodness me those blade tips and the undercarriage come very close to the ground as he's twirling around low level. Perhaps I'm just getting too old for this level of excitement.......

Ciao Planko!
You are not alone.
Kept thinking I was going to see the thing 'fall over' at any moment.
His 'driving skills' put him in the 1000 hour or less category in my view.
I'm all for a wee bit of fun but .. done in the right way (adequate ground clearance, at a safe distance from spectators and flying within one's abilities) but .. the words 'idiotic' and 'unnecessary' sprung to mind while watching that. I suppose the vodka from the previous night's session may not have completely worn off!
My hope is that he's got it out of his system, will be thankful that he didn't totally screw up his moment of madness and will think twice before endangering himself or others in the times ahead .. there are enough inherent risks in most standard flying operations as it is.

Dangerous Lunacy
At approx 2:35 I reckon the blades are almost in contact with the ground and there is a small dark piece of something moves away, could have been something already loose and blown away, but certainly too close for comfort in my book.

Pretty picture, personally I would stick to regular ways of finding a mate, and if any potential mate was impressed by that show they clearly have a death wish as well, I for one was not impressed!
I get the feeling it was done for family and friends in a quiet backwater somewhere out in the country away from everyone else?? The demo was, to say the least: "shabby". 3 out of 10.....no....4 out of ten.
Looked like a full and free control check rather than precision piloting - very lucky to get away with that in my opinion, no margin for error because he wasn't good enough to allow one.

I won't judge safety (it's pointless), but visual appearance.
He just doesn't know what to do next, but he's desperate to do something.
It doesn't have a flow.
It's just - not pretty.

Maybe he wouldn't have done so much spinning around if they had not forgotten to mount the tailrotor when built. I guess they put too much time and effort into that simple rotorhead.

Watched the video, growing more uncomfortable by the second, before reading the posts which I'd have to agree with. There's no point in saying he can do it 'cos he hasn't got a tail rotor - he'd be in a pretty sticky situation if a donk stopped (or any minor caution caused distraction) during his twirling, since he's mighty short of safe options.
I was just waiting for the inevitable, but as it didn't happen on this flight, we'll just have to wait a little longer . . .
