pay your $50k and walk out licensed like you do as a pilot
Walk out with a licence perhaps, but not a pilot - that takes a minimum of another five to seven years relevant experience to become a very junior pilot, in the great scheme of things.

There has always been a chronic shortage of good professional and capable Engineers.....there is no shortage of "Spanner Wankers" unfortunately.

The type of License....Engineer or Pilot does not create first class capable individuals just by mere possession of the License.....that is something that is determined by the Person's ability, knowledge, personal work ethic, and HONESTY (defined as being able to immediately admit, report, and correct Mistakes).

I have had friends killed by both Pilots and Engineers....the Engineers are still alive and kicking while the Pilots paid dearly for their Sin.
