CPL H IR exam credits

Has anybody recently been awarded any exam credits when doing an IR course while holding a CPLH.
I am receiving conflicting information.

Thanks RJ

Not sure what you mean. There are regularly exam credits for all exams.

I think he/she is asking if any CPL holder sitting their IR exams was automatically credited any subjects on the basis they are a CPL holder. When I sat my IR exams in 2009-2010 (as a JAA CPL holder) I was credited only Human Performance, however looking at CAP804/Part-FCL it states the following:

Page 248:
FCL.615 IR(H) – Theoretical Knowledge Examinations and Flight Instruction
(a)Course. Applicants for an IR shall have received a course of theoretical knowledge and flight instruction at an ATO. The course shall be:
(1) an integrated training course which includes training for the IR, in accordance with Appendix 3 to Part-FCL (refer to CAP 804, Section 4, Part L, Appendix 3); or
(2) a modular course in accordance with Appendix 6 to Part-FCL,(refer to CAP 804, Section 4, Part L, Appendix 6).
(b)Examination. Applicants shall demonstrate a level of theoretical knowledge appropriate to the privileges granted in the following subjects:
— Air Law,
— Aircraft General Knowledge – Instrumentation,
— Flight Performance and Monitoring,
— Human Performance,
— Meteorology,
— Radio Navigation,
— IFR Communications.

Page 362:
Section 4, Part L, Appendix 1, A 4
4 IR
4.1 An applicant for an IR having passed the relevant theoretical examinations for a CPL in the same aircraft category is credited towards the theoretical knowledge requirements in the following subjects:
– Human Performance – Meteorology
4.2 An applicant for an IR(H) having passed the relevant theoretical examinations for an ATPL(H) VFR is required to pass the following examination subjects:
– Air Law
– Flight Planning and Flight Monitoring
– Radio Navigation
– IFR Communications

It does not appear to state whether these credits rely on your CPL/ATPL(H)VFR theory exams still being within their 36 month validity period, or not. It simply states "having passed the relevant theoretical examinations for a CPL in the same aircraft category", so without giving any time limit I would have thought that being a CPL holder will at least credit you HP and Met (and possibly even AGK too if you have previously passed ATPL(H) VFR exams).

Human Performance - yes, me, as CPL holder taking IR exams 7 years after sitting initial ATPL's. If unsure, and your in the UK, get the confirmation in writing from the horses mouth. This was before EASA regs were in force (2009-2010), but as I read it you are now credited more than then, FCLweb should be able confirm this.
