Namaste Vertical,

How close can / do you fly near the summit of Mount Everest? I bet it can be quite turbulent up there but are there other (Nepalese CAA) restrictions in place?

Thanks for posting these fantastic pictures you take with just an iPhone!

WoW Faktor..............Nepal; 'Top of the World'

Namaste finalchecksplease...................for Rescue; close enough to land. For filming depends on the permissions granted Turbulent - yikes, basically we are up in the Jet Streams so very very bumpy with scary rotors, up/down droughts. Gotta watch your turns in & outa wind

Just spectacular! A wonderful thread.

How on earth do you stay ahead of the weather in that area?
It does not seem to offer many places to land, yet fog or clouds always seem just around the corner.

WoW.....Helicopter

Morning etudiant.......thanks kindly Mate weather flying here is always a challenge. Mountain flying is largely about decision making as to what to do, press on, turn back, or land? Weather is layered, there's fog, gusts, turbulence, clouds, fog & haze so You gotta stay on the ball

VF - would that photo of the North Face of Everest from Chinese airspace? Do you need a permit to cross the border or similar paperwork/permission?

Mountain High

Namaste Jwscud.......that click may be a bit deceptive, I am sitting just above & to the South of Mount. Lingtren 23,494' which is inside Nepal. I guess You would need permissions from the other side to cross but we have not done so, so don't know exactly
