Hey VF, in your last post that tiny plot of land next to the river, with the stone fence line looks vaguely familiar. That's not the location of your heart-stopping autorotation, is it? P.S., love the pics, especially of the local flora and fauna (people and otherwise).

Was the Compressor thing too heavy/high to sling? I would have made them dismantle it. Maybe I need more time in Asia though.

I'm sure you're allowed more on the hook than on the floor?

Hey nuthin

Compressor I flew in from 33nmiles away & weighed in at about 400kg hehehehehe

Hey krypton_joh

Absolutely correct....... but over these parts they don't like to sling + distances are often long 15-25mins one way, would be quiet a bit longer on the hook

I guess Canada has a slinging culture then. Next time say you can put it in the tool shed for them with a longline (small bit of pendulum effect and timing you can get it in a door way)
33 miles is not that far to sling stuff here. We have mobed in drills (30 loads +)
over 40 miles from the nearest airstrip and the airstrip was a further 1 hr flight from the nearest road.

Cheers

Actually, it would have been faster and easier to longline it to your destination, that kind of a load would have flown perfectly at 80kts and been a lot safer, easier on the aircraft and your back as well.

Nothing wrong with it though, just different places, different ways of doing things.
