27 Seater Helicopter
Hi All,
I normally sell R22s, R44s and Enstroms but I have had an enquiry for a helicopter that has 27 seats.
Can anyone help me with what types of helicopter might meet this requirement?
If anyone knows where there are any for sale, that would be even better.
Thanks,
Steve

Sikorsky S-61? The BIH ones have 26 pax seats plus a cabin attendant, I seem to recall. One even had 32 seats, but I'm not sure if it's still in service.

The question appears straightforward, and we have all assumed you want a civilian registered 27 seater? In the military context you can squeeze 30 into a Sea King too. However, if its civvy you need with "standard" passenger seating then apart from some of the Russiian types mentioned above, the S61, AWL101 and CH47 are all there are. The latter 2 are a tad expensive, and the S61s are verry hard to come by as the US Government's need for up to 100 S61Ts (Carson modded) is draining the market as soon as they appear.

I sold cars for a time, but if you asked me for a bus I'd be out looking for some counsel from a subject matter expert as well. Wind up? Certainly a possibility, but possibly not a certainty.

Thanks for your responses. In answer to some questions, it is not a wind-up, however I don't have high hopes of meeting my customer's needs because, as mentioned, I know nothing about this type of machine. 'What traffic' hit the nail on the head really, as stated, I sell R22s, R44s and Enstroms, not 'busses'. I didn't put my company name as I know people are sensitive about advertising but if you are interested, the company is called 'helimove' and I am sure you are all familiar with Google!
It is a civilian heli that I am after but I have no idea if a suiatable helicopter is available, maybe it is the lack of choice that makes it seem un-feasible. Any suggestions are still welcome, thanks for your help so far.

Flyting: - exactly... that is why I am
a) pleased to folow it up and
b) not getting my hopes up!
c) doing my homework by asking those who might know (i.e. ppruners!)
FNW, My sole instructions are summed up by the email I received saying:
[START]
Hello Steve,
I am looking helicopters to buy with a passenger configuration and can take 27 in an economy configuration, specs and cost?
[END]
It was preceded by a phone call, but the only other information was that this person is buying it for a customer, for whom he acts, but not normally in the capacity of buying helicopters - hence calling me.
Hoping that this helps :-)
Cheers,
Steve
