London HeliRoutes Google Earth Overlay

Does anyone know of a Google Earth Overlay for the London Helicopter Routes? I’ve done some searches, but only found other airspace.

I’ve seen the videos on the the CAA VFR website, but am interested in the “Thames run” from Northwood which is H9 > H10 > H4

Not one that I've heard of. But that routing is pretty easy on any map or sat image because it goes in from the north over Mad Bess Wood, just west of the Ruislip Lido and its standout beach in the trees. Then over RAF Northolt, east onto A40 all the way to hangar Lane Gyratory. South onto North Circ, follow the grass area on west side aiming south for Kew Bridge (dropping over Gunnersbury Park to 750ft by bridge) then east along river all the way to Isle of Dogs.

There is an overlay for GPS - but it is a bit "spiky" for the true routes. Best stick to the Heli Routes chart.

Had a look at your website; excellent job. That’s the best educational site/materials I’ve seen.

RMK thanks, there are some 'deliberate' errors in there, but most my students find it a useful tool on the whole. Also for those using the skymap IIIc gps most come with the heliroutes programmed in, you can turn them on in the map set up menu (page 3/4) although they are no substitute for a chart and don't display the standard operating altitudes.

Thanks Aucky, nice vid and liked the tunes.

Not sure why you need a chart or gps - just follow the water!

Don't like the EOL options much though. Yuck!

A Mirror. And Digital rights

A great video, and I suspect blocked in BRU, due to Digital rights re the sound track.

I assume it is a mirror on the right side......

What errors, not being a rot wing guy, looked Ok to me.

We did a similar video in a JP, round the TMA

Things keep disappearing,
If there is a reason to remove please say removed, or leave a box blank , don't want to know why, just so I don,t think my memory is going.

I'll explain to save the hassle.

I am the CP concerned who asked for this Google Earth KMZ file to be created so we can use it as part of the training courses we run , I didn't ask for it to be made it so it could be given away. If it does ever get given away it will be by the company and not one of the people who made it.

I asked James to remove it this afternoon and he has done so.

Hi VA
No hassle, started thinking "was it this thread or another, or even another site".
Thought my brain was going, (getting old)
Nice bit of work though James,
