An e-mail was sent out by Manns last week giving details of the sudden departure of 2 members of staff and that CAA investigations were involved along with the police.

I won't copy it here as I believed it was potentially libellous, many people within the industry have seen it (the address list ran into 11 lines of names) but it seemed like things were unhappy beyond belief at Fairoaks.

Great shame, I have a lot of happy memories of the AM group, and I hope for all that it can be sorted.

Such a pity. I too hope the 'workers' at AM can get it sorted.

Agree with your comments on the email

Another company 'Hedgehogged' / 'Longminted'. At least 'they' are consistent

Unfortunately, the people who will eventually determine the outcome are those without the necessary skills or prerequisite 'nouse'. AMG have an envious reputation gained over many years of hard work and dedication with integrity. Any tend toward demise is aborhent to the whole industry. No one wants to see what has become an icon go down the tube this way. Those in the right place to resolve this matter and reinstate AMG to its former self are incapable of even seeing a problem.let lone resolve it. My sincere best wishes and hopes for the future go out to the staff even though I know that without the support from the owners, it is a futile position. Good luck lads, AMG on yer CV will still count ----for the present.

As posted earlier on this thread and on another thread, certain individuals within AMH were suspended and subsequently resigned. Reports have been submitted to the Police and ARE at the CAA. Court proceedings by AMH are imminent and it would not be appropriate to give further details at this stage on this forum.

As a result of the matters leading to the suspension of the individuals concerned, AMH voluntarily requested the CAA to suspend its AOC pending a complete restructuring and replacement of key post holders. A new highly experienced team is in place, led by Shaun Byam and assisted by Andy Pickervance. It is anticipated that an application will be made in the near future for the reinstatement of the AMH AOC.

The posts from F.A.T.Albert (or is it A.Agincourt?) are par for the course. It's called biting the hand that feeds you.

Good Luck Boys!!

Great shot of the Bell 47 at Battersea!! It makes you realise just how regulated the industry has become, I'll bet in its day the 47 could fly all over London even though it wasn't a twin. I wonder how many helicopters have crashed in London and how many lives have been lost that has resulted in the added regulations? All this regulation has made helicopter aviation businesses very expensive to run and as a result the industry cointinues to shrink. It would be a brave man who would now start a helicopter charter operation in this country.

AMH needed some new blood and I think the new boys will reposition the business where the revenue is rather than relying on a couple of key customers, who inevitiably got poached by lower costs.

I really think its time the CAA had a good look at what it has done to the industry. The ultimate in safety would be to have no one flying in helicopters (think of volcanic ash as an example) if the industry keeps going the way it is that's how we'll end up (ulitmate pessimistic view here).

How many people were flown in and out of Silverstone safely? By how many helicopters? Was it all done safely and were there single engined helicopters involved, of course there were and congratulations to all involved.

Good luck boys you have a great name to trade on, a great location and an opportunity to redefine yourselves!!

here here .
it,s nice to hear someone who has a positive attitude rather than a condescending view towards very difficult times. The right guys are in place ,talks are underway to re structure the flightline and it may open opportunitys for pilots who have some integrity.
this industry is the nearest thing to the Roman senate i have ever come across YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE

Chippy Chop

The Met Police had a handful of incidents all of which I think might easly be put at the door of singles failing where twins might have been ok ..... Hughes 269 [one total loss] and Enstrom F28 in the mid-to late 1970s.

Nothing Alan Mann or B47 I am aware of.

as I am not psychic and dont have the required contacts can someone give me a clue as to what the reason was the AOC has been suspended.

i.e. is it an engineering, pilot or finance issue ? and the people who have left which dept did they come from?

not looking for traceble info, its just so dull when you have no clue what people are on about

anyone, anyone?

regards

FATAlbert, How do you know this? Unless you actually work for Mann Aviation Group and as such know the 'whole' team currently involved in the restructuring of the group how are you able to state this? It would seem to me from reading all your threads relating to Longmint and their current concerns, you wish them to fail.

I am in the know and it concerns me deeply your disregard for the way you construct your replies. Incorrect rumours on here scare people. Not just employees which you deduced do not read this forum (Wrong!) but also potential customers, current customers, aviation media, suppliers etc...

Just because the people you may refer to as having no clue in what they are doing doesn't mean they don't consult with lots of people who do.

longmintflyer -> Congratulations on getting a "new highly experienced team" in place so quickly. By taking the action of voluntarily suspending the AOC it has made a number of people in the industry more (rather than less) suspicious of your motives. You could always have extended the Fast or Sterling AOCs to cover, surely?

CampFreddie -> Job titles of the departees were Ops Mgr, and the Eng.Training Instructor AFAIK

Let's not beat about the bush......

Difficult to have an AOC if you do not have a Chief Pilot!

Longmintflyer,

Can you confirm, as you seem to be in the know, that the individuals were suspended and then resigned or had already resigned and then were suspended?

And have both individuals actually resigned?

FNW - do you know more, or do you just need the actual text from *that* email? If the latter, it was "They were suspended for gross misconduct, and subsequently both have resigned."
