I use it from time to time. I always thinks it's like Facebook for business users.
Quite handy for keeping in touch with people on on a more professional level.
Not a big fan of Facebook, but I like LinkedIn.
I'll drop you a request when I'm next on Ned.

The Commercial Helicopter Pilots Group on Linked in has 382 members, about 80% US based at present (quite a strong US military trend to the numbers).
Unlike many other LinkedIn Groups, it has been kept pure, and only people with a helicopter/ commercial track in their profile are allowed in (PPLs welcome also, especially those studying for the commercial exams). Well behaved helicopter staff recruiters are also very welcome
