Thought I'd share these with you all!
These are from a very close encounter with the Apache, what a machine! The noise from the Chain was so loud it overcame the cans I had on!!

Good morning Chaps,
It was difficult keeping up in the R22 but I managed to keep back far enough to miss all the spent cases!
I was picked as the arbiter in checking that helicopter borne Gun Fire was'nt to traumatic or loud for the bad guys in far away places, Mr Brown is considering fitting all big MGs with mufflers to help quell unrest from our middle east allies?
The Apache can already nearly go into silent mode when down amongst the leaves and grass, so its just the cannon that has to be silenced a little now!!
Away now on another trip, supposedly to stop the Bang from the big Gun on the Challenger 2, this may be a little difficult,
Peter B
Mx to Senior Pilot,
Thank you so much for the inclusion of the other piccies, I hadn't a clue what I did to lose em, or where you found them, but many thanks, my day is now complete!!

Oh, the noise those aircraft make! I had occasion to email the MoD last year.
"Sir
I was standing on Manningtree railway station at about 0945 when I plainly heard in the North West an AH64 manouvering hard. I searched the sky but was unable to locate it. Only after a minute or so did it suddenly pop up above the treeline, still making steep turns at high speed. It passed over the railway line to the west below 100ft and was quickly lost to view, but not to the ear.
I feel I must take this opportunity to say how much I
appreciate this kind of flying. It's better than an airshow! Please pass my good wishes to the pilot and I look forward to more such demonstrations."
The MoD replied sounding fairly pleased.

It was Warminster, and one of the best days out I have had, afriend of mine went with me he flew a really smart cessna ( kitted out with a Garmin 1000 system, what a piece of kit!) to a farm airstrip just outside Warminster from there we drove to the appoinment and waited for our host, so the flight there and back was the crowning part of a very good day.
