SOP's - VFR
Curious how different operators/crews perform procedures.
Someone asked these questions internally where I work with very little response so I thought I would ask it here.
Please answer the following as you see fit… if you have personal reasons for doing something a certain way… please add that as well. Some of the questions may seem redundant, but they do serve purpose.
Multi Crew VFR Operations – CAT B
What calls are the PF responsible for?
What calls are the PM responsible for?
What is a good hover height (S76)?
What is VTOS in the S76 series?
Should we call VBROC/Vy (use the term VBroc or Vy)?
What speed should the gear be retracted?
What altitude should the gear be retracted?
Should the search light be on in Cruise flight?
What speed should the gear be extended at?
At what distance/time out should the Pre-Landing check be complete?
Who performs the approach at your destination?
Who manipulates the Brakes and Throttles? (PM or PF)
Who gets out and guides the passengers? (PIC/SIC or Left/Right Seat)
Who fuels the aircraft if a fuel stop is necessary? (PIC/SIC or Left/Right Seat)
Who does the Take-off from a platform? (PIC or SIC)
Airspeed-Over-Altitude or Altitude-Over-Airspeed Take-off (Cat B)?

Good topic, should be interesting to see what others say.

What calls are the PF responsible for?
see checklist for a/c but a quick list would be:-
post start, departures, before take offs, after take offs, cruise/climb, initial approach, before landings
What calls are the PM responsible for?
see checklist, challenge / response
What is a good hover height (S76)?
5-10'
What is VTOS in the S76 series?
What do you want it to be? 40-75kts
Should we call VBROC/Vy (use the term VBroc or Vy)?
What do you prefer?
What speed should the gear be retracted?
Below 130kts, door gear limitation
What altitude should the gear be retracted?
???
Should the search light be on in Cruise flight?
It can be.
What speed should the gear be extended at?
Below 130kts
At what distance/time out should the Pre-Landing check be complete?
No set distance
Who performs the approach at your destination?
PF?? Not sure of the question
Who manipulates the Brakes and Throttles? (PM or PF)
Throttles, No-one on the 76 whilst flying. Brakes, PF
Who gets out and guides the passengers? (PIC/SIC or Left/Right Seat)
LHS
Who fuels the aircraft if a fuel stop is necessary? (PIC/SIC or Left/Right Seat)
LHS usually monitors the fuelling if necessary
Who does the Take-off from a platform? (PIC or SIC)
