Swiss Air Force EC635

I don't normally post pics on PPRuNe but thought you whirlywinged types might appreciate these snaps...

Taken at Alpnach, the SAF base in the Alps. This is the third of q batch that will eventually see the Allouette 111 phased out by 2010....get your orders in now

EC Decode

EC635

EC=Eurocopter Product
6 = Military Type
3 = Tonnage i.e. 3 tonne machine
5 = Twin Engine

Bet the Swiss Boys would have liked to have a 4 where the 3 is i.e. 4 tonne

Think they'll just be happy to get something rather than the museum piece Allouette 3s

Frangible fairing

At a guess, I'd say it's been "franged" and the replacement didn't come in the same colour. Only guessing...it's never happened to me...honest!
