It looks like the North West evening will go ahead on the 14th of September at about 1900hrs.

Venue to be confirmed but most likely in a hotel in Knowsley near Liverpool, with very easy access from both the M67 and A580.

I will be producing all the usuall joining instructions and flyers in the next few days

Football at Old Trafford Tonight

Big game apparently (kick-off at 7.45 pm) which will probably clog up the roads in the area of Barton. May be wise to leave a bit of extra time if you're driving in....

We had 41 at Manchester on Tuesday and in the spirit of Striking while the iron is hot I plan to revisit Redhill with new material on 26th October 2010.

Up to now the plan includes, a short talk from ATC Redhill about helicopter operations at Redhill, weight and balance and controllability issues from a Test Pilots perspective (or some variation on that, we have the man and we briefly discussed the subject yesterday) and these are just for starters, there will be more accident case studies with plenty of not seen before at Redhill material.

Sorry folks since posting about the Redhill evening, I have taken on a new and unexpected role at one of the Local operators there, this is currently taking up all of my time and bearing in mind that fresh material for these evening iusually takes 4-5 days to research and put together I simply don't have the time in the next two weeks to get fresh material completed, I discussed this with one of the guys who helps me out with all of this and we agreed to postpone Redhill until I have settled in and we have had the time to put the fresh presentations together.

What we do have on the plan for Redhill is

Redhill Air Traffic talking about how to get in and out of Redhill following the published prcoedures, which sadly are often ignored or perhaps misunderstood.

A friendly Test Pilot talking about weight and balance and controllability issues, and if he gets time some performance issues (assuming of course he can spare some time in the future, I will try and pick a date that fits with him !).

Pre flight planning and how a distinct lack of it is the culprit in a lot of accidents.

I expect to be doing Redhill now at some point in mid to late November.

Redhill

Hi Gary ... good to hear of the Redhill task ...

Can I come for the mid November 'safety evening?' ... still happy to run through the sequence leading to my SLC nasty if suitable for your programme.

Best wishes. Dennis Kenyon
