Who has what and where (North Sea)?

I am in the process of acquiring knowledge to wow and impress interviewers and have been trying to get a definitive list of who has what and where amongst the N Sea operators. Their websites tend to give a list of what is operated, but without an actual breakdown. I have listed what I know, or think I know below, but it is by no means complete - perhaps fellow ppruners could help fill in the gaps..

Aberdeen:
Bond - Super Puma (L2/225)
CHC - ditto
Bristows - ditto

Humberside
CHC - S76?

Norwich
Bristows - Dauphin?

N Denes
CHC - AB139 or S76?

Bristow have the S92 arriving at Scatsta. Pretty sure CHC have at least one S76 in Aberdeen.

Humberside CHC have 3 S76C's and a couple of Dauphins. One away being G checked in canada right now. One is brought over from the continent.

At north denes, they have 2 or 3 S76A+ I think, 2x139's, and 1 S76C if its not up at Humberside.

Good to see somebody actually doing some research before an interview

The following is an accurate list of CHC- Scotia aircraft!

Aberdeen - Eurocopter 332L/332L2/225(just arrived)
Sikorsky 92A

Humberside- Sikorsky 76C
Dauphine N2

North Denes -AW 139
Sikorsky 76

Blackpool - Dauphine N

Offshore N Sea - North - Dauphine N2
South Dauphine N

CHC also has the Coastguard SAR contract with S92s and AW139s

Good luck

Thumbs up

Bomber,

Do you already have 139 rating? I dont think that there are any more initial rating courses planned on the 139 for the foreseeable at Denes. Not that you really expected to get your big slice af cake and eat it too - Best aircraft at the friendliest base to work from!!!!????

If you really want to impress, don't forget there's a Dauphin N2 out of Sumburgh operated by NHV.

Question Interview Prep

Just preparing for a forthcoming interview with CHC and after some questions I had in another interview, I wondered if anyone can supply me with (or guide me in the right direction of finding!) the following info;

Who is their main customer? (lots listed on the website)
Where are and how many platforms do they serve?
What is the average flight time to the furthest platform?
According to the CAA website they have 16 as332/mkII, how many operate from abz?
Last but not least! What are the differences between the puma and mkII? Not had chance to get close to any yet!

Thanks in advance for any help given! I have tried hours of searching but the info above has eluded me!

Cheers

Don't understand why you need to know main customer as you're unlikely to be asked this. If you could name a few of the big customers then that would be ok. ie bp( is pretty much main customer off Humberside), centrica, conoco, in southern north sea etc.
They serve many platforms from northern north sea to southern north sea(assuming you're talking about the UK setup). I'll have a look next time i'm at work. They also have the SAR to think about. The southern bases have no Pumas as they would be too big for many of the platforms down this way.
Some platforms can be reached southern north sea in less than 20 mins, some up to just under an hour, and some up north can be 2+hours away.
Couldn't tell you anything about pumas. Sorry.

"What are the differences between the puma and mkII"

Too many to list, basically the MkII - or the L2 as it is known - has more powerful engines giving it an increased MTOW, a more advanced auto-pilot and a digital display system - it makes the cockpit of the 332L look like a vandalised 'phone box

Now the 225...

North Sea Helicopters

Could anyone give a list of North Sea helicopter operators? If possible with the requirements for pilots?

Many thanks
