Yep, that’s the one. Just bruised egos. Another shot, no cabin distortion or damage to gear, so no impact. Maybe it got a little sideways on the ground slide with a gusty wind challenging the challenged fenestron.

@Robbiee: 99.9% of my hours are in Robinson helicopters. When I flew the Cabri it didn't seem weird at all. It's a string, it points, done. In fact, I hadn't even considered that someone might be thrown by the difference until you posted something.

On the other hand, maybe I'm just weird. I can pretty much jump into anything and my scan sorts itself out quickly. There's plenty of variability in the Robinson fleet alone: big panels, little panels, IFR panels, VFR panels, G500 panels, etc., etc.

Pilot training guide, pre power increase SB.

3800 ft DA. This is from before the hp increase for 5 min takeoff power to 160 hp. The max continuous is still 145 hp so this should cover cases in cruise flight.

Nice web site, good picture perfect balance of no pretentious modern design in the style. Surprised to learn that Bruno hold 80% of the shares, I would have thought he would have been diluted much more by now. if it is true, nice example of organic growth!

Surprising indeed. Actually, you could say 97%, as further 17% are held by family of his, and you can easily imagine who that is :-)

However, in times where "the winner takes it all" this is a risky proposition. Maybe with additional capital Guimbal could by now have a G4, or at least a G2 Mk II with more power. Moreover, higher volumes could have brought down units costs.

organic growth

I remember Bruno saying in an interview that Helicopter is a business of Trust. Keeping overwhelming majority ownership could be one of the tool that could allow his customers to trust him more than the face of a corporation.

Surely he must have been approached several time with people with money, would like to see the G2 family grow by now but there is merit in the G2 building a reputation that exceed R22 and countless 2 seaters wannabe player.

Keep the investment bankers and institutions as far away as possible.
Grow organically - and launch a G4 when you're ready - not some financier...

Hi nocarsgo,

Can you please tell me where I can find the "Pilot training guide" doc that you've quoted above? It looks like some PPT slides from a training course perhaps?

Cheers

There’s an interesting article in this months Pilot magazine about the Cabri regarding the high percentage of accidents.
