Some of the contributors in these pages are really awesome.

More than once they remind me of previous greats, like Frank Hurley ( of the ill fated Shackelton expidition) or even Damien Parer (famed war photographer).
I suggest that some of you put together your efforts in saleable form that can be preserved by many of us and our age of the contempory helicopter design, at work, and maybe at play.

After all, many would have us believe that we are on the verge of moving way ahead of the efficiencies of the best of the fifties designs. Who knows?

When have you ever seen a bigger crowd gather to see 3 helicopters takeoff?

A somewhat "normal" scene from the middle east or Africa...

Can anyone confirm that they normally glue their hats on in Mexico? (excess of 20 caps/hats still on the head while the Uh-60 lifts). Yes, I have taken off with big crowds around much smaller helicopters before and the crowds usually has dispersed quickly, not to mention all the hats and other loose items leaving the scene as soon as a little pitch is pulled.

Malware

Just info Ruger, my web browser came up with warnings because helihuntnfish web site is know to host malware and other internet nasties and I had to go through a number of windows to get this page to display.
Any chance of getting the photos posted somewhere else. I'd rather not infect my pc.

Thanks.

Just landed after after a venison recovery op in the Ureweras in Godzone-1997. How can I post multiple pictures, I try to add another pic by adding the URL but it just copies over the first picture...?

Some pics from the last 10 days or so. All taken by "Bob", the Aviation Safety Officer for the forest I am currently assigned to:

Working the Hill Creek Fire

Loading the "helitorch"

Torch Liftoff

Getting the torch onto the trees:

Different fire--same result:

The Hill Creek fire by the Teton Mountains.

This is why we have particle separators:

Dipping from a "foldatank"...with the "helidog"... (Zoe--she travels with the crew).

Typical Guvmint job....start a fire then haul water to put it out!

Is this why they are called "Prescribed Burns" rather than "Controlled Burns"?
