Bo105 on Hirta island, St Kilda

There's no point trying to compete with Ned - the fella is in a class of his own way out ahead of us mere mortals.

Meanwhile, last week, on an island 44nm west of Benbecula... handysnaks, does this bring the memories flooding back?

Wow!! outstanding pics Ned-Air2Air, I agree with "darrenphughes", the last one is just beyond...
but one question:
Are they shooting the deer with shotgun?? seems odd to me...
must be armed with slugs then and at a very close range

I had a trip from Melbourne to Hobart today, a French AS350B3 positioning to go to Antarctica. Average weather, but the usual stunning scenery on the way

These ones are from a Thar hunt I did with Toby and Spinner yesterday. The Thar are caught with the 500E and then fitted with transmitters and relocated around the Southern Alps.

Cheers,

Ned

Helicopters on HMS Illustrious

I found these on my hard drive. Hopefully, they are of interest to some of you.

Merry Christmas to all of you bobbing about...

And, not forgetting the visitors...

(Post copied from the Alpine thread

Senior Pilot)

Lamas are still in extensive use, both for 'trips round the bay' and for serious work- watched one lifting replacement electric pylons for the railway line through Chateau D'Oex for example.

All the major players have at least one Lama- Air Glaciers, BoHag, Heliswiss, Air Zermatt etc.

For the heavier stuff, then the Kamov Ka-32 is the one to use

The various Eurocopters are also quite popular especially with REGA, and the Swiss Air Force are now replacing their Allouette IIIs with the EC135.

Zermatt;

Lauterbrunnen;

Sion;

Gruyere;

Bex;

Allouette III @ Alpnach;

EC135 @ Alpnach;

Hawaii Sightseeing

Just a few shots from a rotor centric tourist like me.
Although I know, that I cannot compete with the Augusta mantainance crew. ;-)

Btw.:

The helicopters land on a stretch of eruption surviving road in front of a house. You then walk to the lava fields.

Helitac

Taken yesterday, North of Perth West Oz (over my house)

There was a lot of chopper traffic, but only got out in time to take this pic.

Wasnt expecting it to have N registration tho.
