I remember meeting Gerhard in Dubai when he was CP, I think about 1971?
My dad was flying there for Bristow... I was only knee high so I can't be sure of the dates...

Sorry chaps. First time with Photobucket!

Picture around 1968/69 on the Glomar Tasman in the NW of OZ.
Pilot below with the cockpit window open when a spark from the stack landed on the seat with the result shown.

Interesting ferry by Ian Clark from the UK to Oz with the replacement.

When I was in Abu Dhabi in 1969 Gerhard Trosch was already flying for the police air wing in Dubai, a small Italian, (possibly Piaggio), aircraft I think. Great bloke, sorry to hear he is no longer with us.

Shouldn't it be Ian Clarke, I remember when I first met him, in Trinidad, he introduced himself as "...Ian Clarke with an 'e'..."

Cool Clark with an E

You are right-I missed the e. Ian is still flying at 77. I believe that ferry was completed in 10 days.

This is beginning to sound like an alzheimer's AGM.

WLW3;

Thank you very much! I was stuck on Dvorak for so long it was driving me nuts. Do you have any idea what became of him. We were good friends in Egypt but as happens in this business, once someone gets posted, we seem to lose contact.

Thank you again.

Tony Hill passed away on Sunday, Its been hard, but he was Tony, till the end, with a smile and a joke for family and mates. The funeral is at Garden Island Chapel at 2pm on Friday.

Not the most exciting pic so far but it may be of interest to someone. In any case, it's all I've got until I get a slide converter.

August 1971. Ex Royal Brunei Malay Regiment Wessex (one of two) in Hangar 152 Seletar, Singapore before going on contract to Total, Djambi Sumatra. No 1 son with guard, and toolbox.

Was it the same Tony Hill who lived and worked in the Shetlands in the late 1970's?

Port Harcourt

Found these: Port Harcourt 1989-90-ish

Below: 'JV on Pad 2 with the 'Grand' Brewery in the background.

Interestingly, (well I think it is) 'JT doesn't have the PH 'trademark' red top fin. Maybe Tom Ridgers had left by then.
