One killed in helicopter crash east of Firebag River

One person is dead and four others injured after a helicopter crash Sunday night.
At about 8 p.m. the helicopter, working for Forestry under Alberat Sustainable Resource Development crashed 65 kilometres northeast of Fort McMurray, east of Firebag River in Township 95 and Range Road 4.
The pilot and three of the occupants survived and were treated at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre for their injuries while one male occupant died as a result of the crash.
Const. Tiffany Miller confirmed that all of the occupants were adult and said police are not releasing the name of the deceased at this time, pending family notification.
"The survivors suffered non-life threatening injuries and 3 of the 4 of them remain in the hospital, one was released last night," said Miller.
Miller said full investigation of the crash is still in the primary stages this morning.

Narrative: An AS 350 helicopter operated by Phoenix Heli-Flight, was en route from a firefighting area to Fort McMurray with a pilot and four firefighters on board. For unknown reasons, the helicopter went down in a swampy area about 60 miles northeast of YMM and one of the firefighters was killed and the other four occupants were injured. Other helicopters operating in the area responded to the site and evacuated the injured people. TSB Edmonton has sent two investigators to the site
