Absolute fantastic pictures!!!!
Have to be biased-great to see all the Squirrels! Surprised at the amount of B2's flying at Silverstone. Thought they would mostly be B3's???
The S76 looks good to-almost miss working with them!

I couldn't have asked for better conditions/lighting for this weekend...Any idiot with a camera can get decent shots when you've got beautiful aircraft and great weather!

Blue skies...
Last pics for tonight here....
Again I want to thank everybody for the response. Keep posting on the thread if there's something specific you're interested in seeing displayed here and I'll do my best to accommodate if I've got the shots.
If you've contacted me to receive shots via email and don't get answer back within a couple of days - please send me another message, as your original probably got lost in the deluge of requests I've been getting.
As far as the shots below, given the conditions, I think this paint job qualifies as a camo scheme.

A109s at Silverstone
Gents,
Here's a sampling of all the A109s present at the circuit this weekend. Barring one or two aircraft I couldn't catch in focus - I think this is all that were present.

Well impressed !
AFCSoff.
Superlative images.
I see you are using a D70, I have just sold mine having had it since a month after launch. Now run a D200.
I have two friends who are pro snappers [Canon 5d/1D MkII and 1Ds Mk11/1D Mk111] who you put to shame.
Are you running the 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR AF ? They look handheld or possibly you are bloody good with a monopod/flex head.
1340 gms means you must have Popeye's arms to be busy for that length of time ! I have the 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR and know how the weight catches up after a while.
Once again fabulously good shots, I am sending this url to all the people I know who think they can take an image.

Yep...All of my shots are handheld with a four year old D70 and an 80-400mmVR. I've been toying with picking up a D200 but keep putting it off to spend the money on new glass instead. After seeing how many shots I missed being only able to shoot 3 FPS at Silverstone, the 5-ish FPS the D200 (or maybe a yet-to-be-released D300) would offer seems pretty attractive.
It also would have been nice to run a second body with a faster lens - the old style (non AF-S) focus on the 80-400 was killing me - I missed a lot of shots waiting for the focus to rack. How have you liked the 70-200 f/2.8? I've heard nothing but good things about it but since I just picked up a 18-200VR I'm wondering if I would have that much use for it. Your thoughts?
AFCSoff.
Have to agree that after a usable body glass is the right investment.
The 18-200VR is good lens in terms of size and capabilty, all depends what you want to do with it. If the rotor shots are typical of your sort of shooting, well. I would sell it off and buy a 70-200 f/2.8. Of course this is a personal and biased opinion. Try to take one out for a test and make up your own mind.
The 70-200 f/2.8 is obviously fast, the AF is swift, impressed my Canon friends, the lens is well balanced for the size/weight and very easy to use. Most impressive though is the crispness of image.
I bought a D200 for two reasons. a) improved AF speed, the 70-200 is now pretty rapid and b) better control over focus points. A mixed blessing.
The motor drive, oops I mean continous mode, has two states. CH is 5 fs and CL is definable between 1 and 4fps, useful.
One thing I have not yet used is the on-board intervalometer, in built time lapse capability !
D300, well there have been many rumours. Most turned out to be wrt the D3.
My kit is D200,
Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED
Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8D ED
Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D
Nikkor TC-20E II 2.0x AF-S Tele converter, so I lose two stops, only ever used with an f2.8 so we still win.
SB-800
Sigma EM 140 DG Ring Flash
Manfrotto 434B and 055 WNB with various heads.
Good luck and take care, The Mad Monk.
