Helo down Derbyshire: January 2007

Helicopter crashes in rural field
A helicopter has crashed into a field in north Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the scene of the crash at Mill Lane in Old Tupton near Chesterfield at 1030 GMT.

No further details on how the crash happened or how many people were travelling in the helicopter have yet been released.

A fire service spokesperson said crews were having to reach the site on foot because of its rural location.

Please Lord, not again, hope all are ok

BBC News website update @ 12:44

"The two people who were in the aircraft were not injured in the crash. They managed to climb out of the helicopter before fire crews arrived."

The 'grapevine' says that it was an R22 out of Coventry. Although this is obviously unconfirmed.

Is there a reason you've posted?
Are you worried he might hit your house now he has a bigger toy to play with?

All,

I'm glad someone updated the title to add the date of the incident as when I first saw it, I thought it was reporting an accident that had just occurred.
