NSTiger....love the photo of JL....with the three Chinooks in the background. Was looking for a tiny wee duff fellow walking under one of them!

Here is a shot of 'BJ' on the spot in Penzance, this October, 2006.
Cheers,

Not exactly 'airframes' but a Frame of Reference perhaps?

SASless, never knew you had walked the ground at Dyce?
This is vintage 75, a wee bit further North....

Aahhh.. the memories

Good to see the pics of BJ still flying. I flew that beast in Bombay in '85 on contract to the oilfields offshore there. Complicated performance problems caused by having to satisfy the CAA Perf A requirements which meant we had fuel dump fitted (from the centre tank only) and all the de-icing equipment removed to save weight. This made it interesting when the monsoon arrived and the windscreens misted up with no windscreen heat fitted!!
As I recall the aircraft was ferried from a contract in China via Manila, Borneo, Singapore, Penang, Bangkok, Rangoon, Calcutta.
Happy days

Solitaire,

I too flew out of Bombay '84,'85,'86. Schreiner had 2 AS 365N's and 2 SA 330J's, Heli Union an AS 365N, Elitos 1 AS330J, and BA an S76A. Okanagen had 1 S61 and at least 2 Bell 212's. Huston helicopters were just leaving with their Bell 212's.

I did fly BJ years later out of Sumburgh along with GBCEA, GBEIC, GBBUD, GBEOO, GBEWM, GATFM, GBEWL, GBFFK, GBEDI, GBEJL, GAYOM, GBDDA, and leased from Okanagen GBFZC, GBIMV, GBHAH,

Happy days
