I really am not brave on that, At first I used to be afraid of heights (wind etc..) But I studied things as retreating blade stall margins quite extensively on my simulator and know the margins in many circumstances.
Power margins on the R44-II seem to be very good, rotor seems to be more the problem ip retreating blade stall. For the R44-I, it was always the motor that quit first, even at FL85 and before VNE.

I built this up very progressively on many flights in many circumstances. Mostly now I would cruise between FL75 and FL85 because I feel its the best in many circumstances. From FL105 rotor limitations limit effective TAS, and consumption goes up so you are starting to loose again (not to speak of slimmer margins).
AT 12000, in a local mountain flight I stopped not because the machine couldn't do more (2POB, 2/3 fuel), but because the manual indicates NO FLY at any weight.

September Calendars (Another Widescreen Calendar Added!)

I had forgotten about a great picture of a 427 and I just made into a widescreen version, its at the bottom.

I thank everyone who sent pictures, I got some really good ones, unfortunately some of them didn't have enough resolution to be used in the calendar, I hope some of you can rescan them or get the originals so that I can use them in the future. Some others were not very suitable because the intersting part would have to be covered either by the calendar and logos or the desktop icons.

The two top calendars are in 1024 x 768 pixels, the last are widescreen versions.

Thanks for sending the pictures.

Top pics as always BP.

Can I be cheeky and ask for a widescreen version of the air ambulance. I want to fly the local flag and all that...

No problem if not.

Congratulations BP! Those are all great shots but although I'm a patriotic Aussie, that 427 is going to look great on my desktop for the remainder of September.

A Bollywood production came to town today, I wasn't involved, but did get a few interesting pics...
They spent most of the day up on a Glacier 35 miles N of town, but did this scene on the Airport...
