Bull!!!!!
Was going to keep quiet on this - but now I see the funny side.....just about !
Went for a jolly yesterday and decided to go and see a farmer friend unannouced as had a come any time you like welcome before. Did a high and low recce as per the book and took a good look at the soft ground, animals, cables etc as you do. The very large field is open ended enabling good access from both ends. I picked my spot and made my approach and put it down nicely. I was doing the shutdown checks and out of the corner of my eye, I saw this black lump getting closer and closer...I looked up and there was this massive f****ng bull charging towards the starboard side no less than 15 feet away - I threw the check list into the air and yanked the lever with the friction on no doubt and we roared into a wobbly towering climb and I didn't look down until I was a 100 feet or so to see this angry bull looking up at me, waving his hoof ! I hovered away from the spot and the farmer came running over with his hand and a tree branch and the bull made a retreat, back over to his supposedly electric fenced off side of his field. The farmer waved me down again. By this time, I needed the bathroom anyway, so I put it down, now facing downwind just incase bully came back. Apparently, Bingo the Bull can tell when the battery is getting low on the electric fence and knows the best time to push it over ! Just my luck it was bloody yesterday ! I suppose he thought I was the competition ! Lesson learned - the old Blue Peter adage...never work with children or animals !!

Mustering once upon a time I had a bull being chased by a stockman go under the tailboom on a Hughes 300 after I'd landed.
Its very important, if you ever go mustering, to have some rudimentary tracking skills. So you can find the animals.
How do you tell the difference between cow!!!! and bull!!!!?
Well, if you pick up cow!!!! and smell it, it smells sort of like cow!!!! and if you pick up bull!!!! and smell it, it sort of smells like cow!!!! so you can't tell that way.
If you pick cow!!!! up and roll it around in your fingers, it sort of feels like cow!!!!. If you pick up bull!!!! and roll it around in your fiingers, it sort of feels like cow!!!!, so you can't tell that way either.
If you pick up some cow!!!! and throw it up in the air it falls to the ground and makes a sort of a PLOP noise. Thats cow!!!!.
BUT, if you pick some up and throw it into the air and it STAYS up there.........thats bull!!!!!

While flying game capture flights for the US Park Service in a place out west with big rocky mountains and lots of critters, we were tasked to retrieve a Bull Bison that had wandered off from the holding pen he was being held in. When we asked how we would be able to identify him....we were told he would be the one that was dragging a Quarter Mile of barbed wire fence and posts along behind him.
