I can only afford the 12 year old, too. I'm not an expat anymore. It wasn't mine!

Seismic

Anyone currently working for ADA (seismic only) could advise life/conditions at the jobsite(s)

And currently how long to get checked out in Abu Dhabi before leaving for jobsite. What I gather from various sources, it seems the downside is being in Abu Dhabi but improves out in the field...

Pm or email if appropriate.....Appreciate some help on this. Thanks!

...Rog

This is the 3rd letter I have seen with basically the same text. The operator changes each time, but the lure is the same. If you respond you will be asked for a "processing" fee.

BIG SCAM!!!!!

Mods should remove this....

Gulf Helis

I notice that there doesn't seem to be much input from our brothers in Doha lately. Is the old crowd finally all gone? Do the new not know or care about the rumor network?

That may be because ME is now DFO at Global Vectra and taking on the guys he knows from there. However, he has to do this because I hear a lot of pilots have left GV lately and some of them are setting up their own company in competition to GV.

Angel INDIA

Greetings to all my readers!

To dispel 'duff-gen' rumours I would offer the following summary:

Global Vectra is alive, very well and still doing good business in India and is currently recruiting suitably qualified and current expat offshore 412 IFR Captains from across the globe for 6/6 Rotational work in Mumbai (and East Coast bases as required). NRI’s and Resident Indians

The pay package offered exceeds that at ADA and Gulf Helis and has proven sufficiently attractive to lure many guys away from GHC in particular, by their own personal choice for a better quality of life, a new environment and, - one might venture – to be looked after in a manner befitting professional pilots working overseas. No one is forced to do anything – or to resign from his or her present employer.

The attractions speak for themselves: The pay rates are excellent and are paid offshore wherever you wish. Only 6/6 rotation currently available, work-overs encouraged for the foreseeable future at attractive rates. No married accompanied jobs possible.

Qualification requirement is suitable ICAO 412 ATPL (H) IR Rating/P1 with adequate Offshore Experience. Licence of choice for Validation in India and a valid Class 1 Medical. Captains only. DGCA India will not accept co-pilots. GVHL Recruitment takes on average 5 to 8 weeks approx for Security Clearance through DGCA India, then Employment Visa issue through home country Indian embassy. Modern Company accommodation to a high standard with en-suite or allocated private facilities. Aircon/Satellite TV, company transport to/from work. Monthly pay. No tax. Loss of Licence Insurance & Medical/Life Insurance provided in country.

Global Vectra is the largest helicopter operator in India and has plans to expand its operations significantly during the coming years. There has been a very positive change of Management during the last 10 months which has seen the demise of the previous and corrupt Chief Pilot who was proven to have been working deliberately in his own financial interests to try and cripple the company, steal several of its pilots and take them across to Heli-Go – a new start-up conglomerate company which has yet to establish itself in the market in India.

Part of Heli-Go’s modus operandi (in the absence of any actual helicopters in country, any offices, contracts or tangible presence in India thus far) has been to poach pilots, engineers and ops staff from Global Vectra. Departing staff also deliberately sabotaged computer equipment and removed Company files illegally. This action is the subject of a Mumbai Police Investigation. Several pilot left illegally for Heli-Go without fulfilling their DGCA-mandated 6-month notice period requirement. They left for the lure of larger salaries, but with no written offer or contracts in their hands, perhaps being overly trusting! Those pilots who left Global Vectra in this manner are now subject to legal action by the company and also to Licence Suspension by the Indian DGCA until such time as they obtain either a Clearance Certificate from GVHL or work off their 6-month notice period.

Heli-Go is recruiting hard, but are still offering no actual contracts to their potential pilots, only large cash payments as inducements on a verbal nod. This does not bode well for what may become ‘Gone2Hell’ rather than ‘Heli-GO’! Their tactics thus far have demonstrated the way in which they intend to do business – without any integrity or trust. Sounds familiar to many of you, I know! Their backer previously backed Azal many years ago before the change of ownership to GVHL and was responsible for defaulting on paying wages to many of his pilots – some are still owed in excess of three months’ pay.

There – a detailed summary of the current situation. I think that major developments will make HeliGO less attractive soon, but they will have to wait and see whether what they put out there from the beginning of their foray is fated to come back to bite them firmly on the arse, or not!
