Perhaps they need some topping up from the remaining "old boys" of 1977? Pip, pip!

Thanks 212man. What's the strike about this time ? Equality was taken care of years ago ?

The running cost of WASBU (no idea what it's called now, the name changes after every "restructuring") were high mainly due to commuting, security and accommodation; the BC ethos of high charges in return for Target Zero went when he did, so given your observation I guess the "powers that be" will be taking a very close look at the bottom line.

Thanks! Strange that the words 'Africa' and 'what's new' didn't yield anything!

I see on social media that the 3 ADA AW139s have just arrived by AN-124 in Nigeria, to operate with OAS......

...and I heard that ADA is in chaos, they need to hire 30 pilots one day, and need to fire 30 pilots the next. And I heard that Nigeria contract had been put back to March, and that the pilot salaries on offer had been cut in half.

Angel ambidextrous

Yesterday is already history. Algezera reported that the population of Nigeria is approx. 300 million of which 40,000 are millionairs. Unlike 2019, in 2020 so far, 176,000 Nigerian nationals are applying for citizen ship elsewhere in the Carabean or Europe. Is this now a problem for pilot training?
(apologies for any spelling mistakes but my quill pen is U/S)

Now that Bristow aren't training them it probably will be. Although undoubtedly Caverton have stepped in with an ab-initio training scheme??

So Caverton have become the numero uno helicopter operator. Who would have thought a decade ago that BHNL and ACN would be laid so low ? Being ex BHNL I can testify to the pitifully poor remote management decisions that brought about their demise. Houston bean counters rarely visited nor made any effort to understand the local modus operandi, despite the pleas of our extremely competent and insightful National MD. Post BC the trajectory was all downhill with many board members becoming rich at the expense of good governance. Similar story at Aero once they were bought out.

My best wishes to all those working for all operators under Covid 19 and for a Happy Festive season.

Question Mama Mangrove

My Stroke continues to give me a problem when attempting to reply to people. I do possess information which may be of interest to you but I would prefer to publish privately by letter. But with the current problems regarding Post in or out of the UK and especially now we are very near being ship-wrecked by Boris Johnson, this also would be difficult.? Q-satirical response: There are "economical with the truth lies i.e.Tony Blair/dammed lies or Boris Johnson - take your pick!

ADA's Ops manager is just thinking in his own bonus, so as lower salaries bigger the bonus.

One hears that Bristow have made quite a few very experienced pilots and engineers in Nigeria redundant. What’s going on?

Can anyone is still in BHNL tell us what long term contracts they have apart from Eket ? An old friend tells me NAF Base has nothing but charter work going on. What FW work do they have ?

They still have Total. FW is mainly XOM to Uyo I believe (after they closed their flight department and put Eket airstrip for sale).

Ah, the most racist, finnicky client I ever had the displeasure of servicing ! They REALLY hate anyone who isn't French, and non French aircraft. The AS332L2s were an absolute disaster, imported at their insistence. When they finally conceded and went to S92s the criticisms shifted to the passenger/baggage process. They spent most of their time looking for faults and finding none. No pleasing them.

I guess the FW is using the aircraft originally intended for the integrated service that never materialised ?

Good luck to the NAF Base boys and girls !

Good evening ladies and Gents,

Does anyone here have any news on Stacey?

I have heard rumours the last couple of days but have no one to contact.

Sadly, Bristow Old Gits Forum on Facebook reported that Stacey passed away in the last few days due to the 'Big C'.
