Europe minimum requirements to be pilot
l would like to ask what is minimum requirements to be pilot in Europe. They hire new graduates with zero experience or they prefer to hire with 250-500 hours or up to 1000 on depending on the experience.

2,357.2. I hope that helps.

Interesting question. Which airline? Which European country? Do they take cadets? If they take cadets, you're looking at 250-300 hours. If not, I'd day 2000 hours at a guess.

There is no minimum legal number of hours, but you do need to have a CPL/IR, MCC and ATPL Theory credits amongst other things. That means you can get a job with 200 hours or less.

For Germany and Switzerland

Rudestuff is right, many airlines take cadets so the bare minimum hours is "enough". Now, there's a good chance that you'll have had to have been preselected on their cadet schemes or go through an approved (read expensive) flight school.
Here's Swiss Airlines procedure for cadets. |
Really depends on the airline in question. Especially larger ones have contracts with pilot schools, quite a few prefer MPLs as they are trained on their procedures from day one. Others are happy to take on pilots from different schools, but only take those that did an integrated course in one of the big schools. Others don't mind how and where you did your license, as long as you have it and pass their assessment process. And there is always a certain percentage which will have a very hard time finding a job at larger (and usually that equates to better conditions) airlines. Which does make the point for passing the selection before you sink around 100k in a fast expiring training.
Of course there are other employers out there, but not really all that many in Europe. |
