Receiving ADS-B out from within the same aircraft
Hello everybody!
I have a question for those who use ADS-B receivers. If I have a (separate) ADS-B receiver inside my airplane, am I able to receive data also from the ADS-B out of my own plane? Hope it makes sense. |
Yes, sure (why not)?

But don't be surprised if it does not!
A transponder output of 100W or so at a distance of 1 or 2 metres is quite likely to saturate your ADS-B receiver. |

I also have another question. Is there a way to acquire airdata (IAS mainly) in order to display its value on a portable display (like EFB for instance)? Is there a physical connection to the cockpit or to the pitot-static system? Thank you. |
As you have to input your aircraft ID for the ADS-B IN to ignore your own signal and enable traffic warning, I do suspect this is because you do receive it ...
