What will replace the A319s at BHX?
If BA are indeed dropping the A319 operation out of BHX, what type(s) do they intend to replace them with? Will they increase frequencies? It seems a strange policy change when I note that the last four flights I recently took between DUS and BHX all exceeded 90% loads on the A319!

Since when did common sense ever come into anything in the Regions? The DUS is being slowly handed over to Embraer 145s, so if you like having your hand luggage with you better do all your flying now! Once the 319s go they'll be replaced by RJ100s from Gatwick. Thanks for flying with us anyway, you may be our only customer left after all the jets go. <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

Hey...
You're not Michael B..ISHOP are you?? He seems to be very fond of RJ's in one form or another :) :) |
So when exactly did BA decide to stop A319 operations out of BHX and what will happen to all the aeroplanes?
|
It was announced on Tuesday as part of the 'Future Size & Shape'Project......
All A319's from BHX are to go to LHR. |
Michael,
Not at all an insider, Sir Michael Bishop is the Chairman of bmi (or British Midland, as they used to be called!) |
For the curious, BA's policy in the regions is best explained if you consider that making money is not on the management's agenda. No-one is quite sure what the 'real' mission statement is, but it might read:
"To destroy one of the UK's most successful brands in the shortest possible time. To alienate customers, fail to seize potential opportunities and to stick to an outmoded business plan regardless of world events/markets. It is our goal to flush the company round the bend faster than you can say Harpic" |
