Definition of PLOG please!

Hi there
Can someone please tell me what the term PLOG stands for when used in discussions regarding fuel weight? I`ve tried Googling it but am none the wiser.
Many thanks!
Iain

It's the Pilot Log for the flight which has details of the crew members, scheduled and actual times, flight plan, navigation log ( waypoints, distances, mag tracks, fuel remaining, distance to go, safety alt, eta, ata, actual FL, fuel plan etc

When I asked the same question many moons ago I was told, "Because it is first for Planning and therefore the Plan then, during and after flight, the Log, hence Plog".

I was always taught to understand it as Progress Log :ok:

And we just talk about an Operational Flight Plan so PLOG sounds rather funny here .)

Anyway, do you really have crew members details on your flight plans? Just wondering.

Used to call it a "Jet Plan". Its all the same. Its the official record of flight.

In respect of PLOG fuel as I think the post is about, it is the statistically calculated amount that will get you to destination with the necessary reserves.

As for what PLOG means ???

Planned LOG I think !!

Never asked, never needed to as everyone knows what it means !!!

Old BEA term for navigation log ( turning points, distances, mag tracks, fuel remaining, distance to go, safety alt, eta, ata, actual FL, fuel plan etc) Also had a graphical picture of the route. BEA practice was to annote the PLOG when Aids were tuned and then identified IN COLOUR. Red V and A and Green V and A. So young copliots had a multitude of coloured ball points or one of the new fangled multi coloured ones.
