Can anyone translate this?
Can anyone translate this please...It is an automated US weather report. The dark blue bits are the ones I need help with. Thanks.
SA230253 230253Z AUTO 03004KT 10SM CLR 23/20 A3009 RMK AO2 SLP189 T02330200 51005= |
hmmm, let's see if I still remember:
AO2 stands for automated reporting station SLP Stands for sea level pressure in hectopascals and tenths, as shown: 1018.9 T02330200 stands for temperature/dew point in tenths centigrades, as shown: 23.3C/20.0 Not sure about the last 5 digits... Hope this helps |
A02 just means that the automated station has a precipitation discriminator (can differentiate between rain, snow and unknown precip)
The 51006 group is the pressure tendency for the past 3 hours. The number 1 means the pressure has been increasing, then remained constant, or has been increasing and then increasing at a slower rate. The bottom line is that the pressure was increasing at a faster rate during the first period of the 3-hour interval than at the end of the 3-hour interval. This gives you an indication of the trend (in this case you could probably expect the pressure to remain constant or rise less during the next 3 hours). The overall pressure change was 0.5 hPa. hope this helps. palgia |
