Corporate flying? How does a low hours Pilot get into it?
 

Are there any corporate pilots out there who can lend a hand? I am a low hours (250) pilot, just qualified, looking to enter the corporate market. All the vacancies I have seen require more hours than an Airline!
Are there any companies that recruit pilots such as myself, or that let you sit in the right hand seat and gain jet "experience" time without getting paid ie. making the radio calls, flight planning, mass and balance etc?

It's not what you know, it's more of a case of who you know.

Try and get a ground job with one of the charter outfits and work your way to a flying job, that way. Presuming there are no flying jobs going.

Low hours are not really detremental, as far as I am concerned. None of us ever stops learning. What you will not have, being low houred, is a proven "track record."

Problem in UK is that both pilots on a JET require a full type rating - and why should any company pay for you (with your inexperience) rather than a guy with experience (who would be safer to have if anything went wrong with the Captain).

Frustrating isn't it.
