Maximum duty period

Good evening / morning / day

My company scheduled me for a 16h25 long duty period (positioning to simulator + sim session + positioning back to homebase) on a single day, starting at 0300UTC and ending at 1925UTC.
It is a french company, based in france under easa rules. My question is : is it legal ? I couldn't find any information about a maximum duty period for a single day (only the limitations for 7 days in a row / 14 days or 28 days or a whole year).
Any idea of where I would be able to find some more details about this ?

Ops manual? You're not flying anything so there aren't the same limits.

Thank you both for your replies.
There is nothing about it in my ops manual. I am not planned to operate an aircraft (positioning, sim duty and again positioning) but I can't find any info on the "max ground duty time" / day. The positioning is considered as a ground duty for the company, as is the sim session and the positioning flight to the home base. The only thing I found says that I am limited to 60 duty hours in any 7 consecutive days or 110 duty hours in any 14 consecutive day,...but nothing about the limit for 1 single day.

I am trying to find a legal answer as 16h25 of duty on one day seems to be too much to me.

If it’s any help, the company I work for oprerates an absolute maximum flying duty period 16.5 hours so they may be working to that. I work for a UK charter operator medium jet.
Your rest period following the duty would have to be the same length.
if I did not consider myself fit to drive home following the Sim I would contact company and expect a hotel booking.

Are you self positioning?

if not then they can position you for as long as they like.

Hello guys,

Thank you for your help.
Got a reply from the HR department, they told me it was a mistake. Positioning is considered as duty time and according to the labour agreements they are not allowed to give me more than 16 hours of duty / 24 hours.
So they booked an hotel for me in order to solve the issue.

Its as important to know your labour agreement rules as it is the Regulator rules. Mistakes by crewing end up being paid for by the crew. Often the mistakes are unintended but sometimes they will use that excuse in order to get a duty completed.
