Ryanair Ferry Pilots

I am interested in how Ryanair rosters pilots for their new aircraft delivery flights.
I think they received 8 new aircraft in May, that's a huge amount.

Is there a dedicated team or is it more a random things?

:ok:

As far as I'm aware (I left them a wee while back) they were done by all-captain crews direct from Seattle. Minimal local accommodation.

They were advertising internally for Captains to go on secondment to Seattle to do the acceptance flights last year. I believe it's a pretty average deal.

Did they have to pay their own way there and for their accommodation?

What's the definition of minimal accomodation?

Surely similar hotels that other UK airlines would use? 4/5 star?

Well, EASA OPS states that it must have a sleeping opportunity (aka bed), and the possibility to regulate lighting and temperature. Thats about it. Could be any dump with a light switch, curtain and AC.

From what I heard its minimum rest in a fairly average hotel with no time to relax or explore. Raddison or Marriott it ain't! The check pilots get a room in a Ryanair rented apartment shared with the Ryanair engineering representative.

As I say, this is second hand line gossip from some months back, but from someone I flew with who turned down the job based on the above.
