Bluetooth in cockpit

Hi,

Question regarding Bluetooth technology inside the cockpit. Are pilots allowed to use Bluetooth Smart devices in-flight?

I read that Bluetooth headsets are allowed so are any other devices allowed, for example a humidity sensor that is connected to pilot's tablet and shows the humidity levels inside the cockpit?

Thank you for your reply

I have seen EFB's that sync up with it.

My company planned to use a charging/bluetooth device on each side of the flightdeck to charge iPads and provide (wireless) connection from iPad to iPad and between iPads and the FMCG. However so far they haven't been installed, apparently the certification and cost is not as easy as originally thought.

If you read the EASA regulations thorougly, then no. Applicable for EASA airliners AFAIK. Unless a part of a approved kit.

regards, FD.
