Mach number in NATS OTS
Ladies and Gents, I have a couple of questions. When flying in the North Atlantic Organised Track System, you no longer need to include your mach number in position reports, also does your oceanic clearance from ATS still include your flight plan mach number?
On requesting the Oceanic clearance you would request a mach number (usually one from the flt plan), The radio operator (shanwick or Gander...) will tell you the mach to fly whilst in oceanic airspace.
B737900er, thank you for your response. But does that mean you must report your mach number at every oceanic position report? Or you do not have to report your mach number at every oceanic position report?
No mach number in a position report. Mach number is only mentioned in request, clearance or re clearance - e.g. if I request a higher FL and higher Mach number at the end of a position report.

B737900er, thanks for the information.
