Does your airline use an FTL calculator?

Just a quick question for all you airline fliers out there....

Does your company currently use an app or program for FTL calculations? Is so, which one?

Or are you like me - forced to sift through a paper manual to figure out what's legal and what's not?!?

Thanks for all replies!!

The European cockpit association have produced some free ones for EASA FTL.

Crew in my company have to do their own calculations, however the companies rostering system of course has its own set of calculations including legal FTLs as well as our CLAs that deal with those issues. However, they often try to get around the CLA and just use the legal minimum required stuff.

There are a few FTL calculator apps out there, the ECA ones are nice for EASA FTL, many of us use EuOPSvsMTV which has the CLAs of quite a few airlines builtin as well.

Thanks for the replies! Yes the ECA app does look quite reasonable but I guess it is using rules which technically aren't in effect till Feb 2016 perhaps.

There are a few others which work with EU OPS. I am interested to know if there are any airlines out there using their own tailored app or an app that takes their own requirements into account?

That is, if such a thing actually exists!!

I can picture an OPS controller using his iDevice checking crew's duty limits

Mine does. Pretty accurate too. ACARS OOOI data (320) feeds straight into the Co's system. In fact I get a text message before I even get my bum out of the seat about the next duty if I'm illegal for it. For Duty legality it takes a minute longer.
