Confirm/Affirm? MCC

Hi

What do you use in the cockpit? For example: Confirm engine number one cut-out switch? Confirm, Confirmed or Affirm? Is there any manual like for radio communication with standard phrases?

Confirm/Affirm? MCC

What does your company use as stand phraseology according your manuals?

In the example given, my company uses something slightly different, eg in case of engine failure #1:
"Confirm power lever #1"
"Flight idle"
"Confirm condition lever #1"
"Fuel off"

So the confirmation includes the desired action with the lever being confirmed. If the pilot monitoring has grabbed the wrong lever, the answer would be "negative."

Confirm or Confirmed, it is the bloody same thing. Anybody making a problem out of this needs to see a professional to help his/hers anal retentiveness...

Despegue, hear, hear!
Another one that gets me is whether one can say "shot one discharged" Or "fire extinguisher number one bottle discharged". In the heat of the moment, does it matter once the deed is done? It's done. What is really more important is to start timing for the possible discharge of shot two, yet it is surprising how many get so tied up with trying to be word perfect that they forget to do this.
