Aircraft Postion Report in the North Atlantic Airspace

Can anybody please confirm that in the North Atlantic Airspace you do not need to report your Mach Number? Is this new?

DooblerChina 24th Dec 2014 23:59

Correct

standard call is

airline123 position 55 north 020 west time 0900 flight level 360 estimate 55 north 030 west at time 1000 55 north 040 next.

No need for Mach or weather anymore if on a random route. I just use the position page on the FMC, it's in the right format.

Cruising mach number is assigned to you in the oceanic clearance so they know what you are doing.
