P1/s vs PUT and "Dual or "In Command"

From a new PPL holder:
Can anyone define for me when to use P1/s or PUT, when flying with an instructor who is booked to check your flying skills?

Also, and most importantly, should P1/s be booked as "In command" or "Dual"? Everyone I've asked tells me "in command"...but my logbook say different!

Any help..guides as to where to look for info...v much appreciated.

Thanks

P1 u/s is only used when flying with an instructor when you are doing a test and you pass the test. The exception to this is when the test is an instrument test and you are behind screens. In this case you can not be 'in command' of the aircraft as you can not see out.

P1 u/s is logged under 'Command' time. PUT under dual.
