What about Concorde?

I'm writing an article on Concorde for Air & Space magazine, published by the museum of same name in Washington. I'd like to hear opinions about the aircraft from aircrew who have experience with it, or anybody else who wants to sound off. Love it or hate it? Should it fly again? Is it as safe as it should be?

Concorde whilst a little dated in many respects was at the forefront of technology at the time it was launched. It is thus fully capable in the modern ATC environment.

It is inherently safer with its delta wing which allows it to fly closer to its 'stalling speed', and with its high power to weight ratio. The Paris accident was a major failure at the most vulnerable point, and is being corrected.

You can review these issues in depth by studying the American court cases concerned with allowing Concorde into Washington and New York.

You may question its cabin attractions if you just look at a photo, but ride on it and you'll appreciate what the pinacle of passenger flying is all about.

Second to none. Ask anybody.
