OPS 1: Can't find the link

Hello

I'm trying to find the latest version of the EU-OPS manual for aeroplanes
OPS 1: Commercial air transportation (aeroplanes). I've managed to find a pdf version dated 20/09/2008, but the EASA website is so confusing, I can't find out if this is the latest version.

Can anyone help with the offical link to EASA's website or know where I can find and confirm we have the latest amendment?

Thank you!

The 20/09/2008 version is as far as i'm aware the most recent one. A new EASA OPS is in the works, however that usually takes quite a few years until it's done and "valid".

EASA are in the process of amending EU OPS 1 to become EASA OPS 1. The notice of proposed amendment went out some time ago. The comment response document is due out literally any day now. This will show which comments on the proposed implementing rules have been adopted and which have not.

Until then the latest EU OPS 1 doc rules. It was a transposition of JAR OPS 1 with little or no major changes.

Hope this helps, and yes their website sucks.

Here is the link to the published EU-OPS 1 document:

Confused here! I thought EUOPS was not 'active' until 2012? Is JAROPS not the governing document?

COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) No 859/2008
of 20 August 2008
amending Council Regulation (EEC) No 3922/91 as regards common technical requirements and
administrative procedures applicable to commercial transportation by aeroplane
is the relevant document, I think,

Article 1
Annex III to Council Regulation (EEC) No 3922/1991 is replaced
by the Annex to this Regulation.
Article 2
1. This Regulation shall enter into force on the day of its publication
in the Official Journal of the European Union.
is when it comes into force....I'm sure it's now in force as Sir George says, but I don't know the actual date of publication.

And what we are all talking about, I think, is Annex III, as below; (where are Annexes I and II? Search me, there's only 1 Annex, but that's the EASA mind at work.)

‘ANNEX III
Common technical requirements and administrative procedures applicable to commercial transportation by aircraft
OPS 1: Commercial air transportation (aeroplanes)
Contents (General layout)
SUBPART A — Applicability and definitions
SUBPART B — General
SUBPART C — Operator certification and supervision
SUBPART D — Operational procedures
SUBPART E — All weather operations
SUBPART F — Performance general

SUBPART H — Performance Class B
SUBPART I — Performance Class C
SUBPART J — Mass and balance
SUBPART K — Instruments and equipment

JAR–OPS 1 was superseded by EU OPS 1 as announced in amendment 14 on 16 July 2008.

"Amendment 14 16.07.08
Annex III to European Council Regulation (EEC) No. 3922/91, as amended, referred to here as EU-OPS1, contains common technical requirements and administrative procedures applicable to commercial air transportation by aeroplanes, which are based on JAR-OPS 1 Section 1 material. On 16th July 2008, these requirements will become applicable in the states of the European Union (EU) and in the JAA member states which have concluded an association agreement with the European Community covering aviation safety
regulation. The Joint Aviation Authorities Committee (JAAC) has, consequently, made the decision that with effect 16th July 2008, JAR-OPS 1 Amendment 13 will be superseded by the requirements contained in EU-OPS.
These should, in accordance with the Cyprus Arrangements, be incorporated in the national regulations of the remaining JAA member states which are neither members of the EU, nor signatories of an association agreement
with the European Community covering aviation safety regulation."

Thanks everyone for your help. I have to say, it's a boring subject and quite complex. Any one fancy a pint?
