ATS routes in Africa

Hi,

I'm going to start working in Africa soon and I've a question concerning ATS routes:
where can I find information concerning the class of the airways in the African region? I believe they're mostly class F or G (uncontrolled) which means that for a change of flight level or routing the ATS unit can provide only traffic informations about known traffics and pilots should rely on communications on IFBP frequency, therefore any deviation from the active flight plan should be avoided unless strictly necessary. Is all of this correct?
Thanks!

Hi KC,

The African forum of PPRuNe would I'm sure result in some good answers if you were more specific - a lot depends on where you are going to be flying and more importantly what type of ops/airfields. For Africa it's fair to say that local knowledge and advice will give you far more than you'll ever find on the internet. There are some charts and other material here - ATS routes in Africa. Good luck!
