How to bridge the gap between Turbo prop and Jet ?

Background:

3500TT with command time on a transport cat. aircraft
ICAO ATP and 400hrs S/O time on a larger airliner.

Everywhere I look, places want a type rating, which isn't THAT big of an issue, other than the $$$ to buy one, but they also want tie on type.

How is it possible for someone like me to get into the right seat of something like a 757,767,777,747 ?

I'm over the cadet age requirements and from North America, but willing and hoping to travel.

....any ideas ?

Are you American or Canadian? Do you have eligibility to live and work in a foreign country? Are you willing to go to the Middle East or Asia? There are a lot of experienced, typed pilots out there looking for work now.

You cannot "buy" your way on to a B737 or larger airliner--only one way, wait for the major airlines to start hiring (depends on the carrier and the economy), have the right credentials, get an interview and be offered a job. Only Southwest (perhaps WestJet) requires a type and SW doesn't require time on type. DL is hiring right now, but I'll be they can be pretty picky.

Thanks for the reply. I'm from Canada and yes I'm willing to travel. What I don't understand is how every company out there wants a type rating, 1000TT and 300hrs on type.

Who is going to hire a guy with 700TT for the right seat and give him a type rating ? Am I missing something ? How could some one exist out there in the right seat with 700TT on some good size tin, when guys like me, willing to travel, ICAO ATP and command time on a med, transport cat turbo prop and can't even find a job ad that doesn't ask for a min of 300hrs time on type and a valid PPC.
