Ability to hold an AOC

If an airline is unable to pay the crew salary are they officialy able to maintain their AOC? or is it revoked by EASA until their financial situation recovers?

I'm not sure the authority would be that interested in their not paying the staff, but they have to be financialy fit to keep hold of their AOC

If they can't pay staff...they can't pay for parts either (longterm). The AOC won't last long!

What's the point in holding on to an AOC if you are not able to make money with it in the first place? :ugh: Paid or not, I would walk away from the lot before the famous thing hits the fan.

AOC & Operating Licence

To hold an EU-OPS AOC you need also to hold an Operating Licence issued in accordance with EU Regulation 2408/92. The AOC is issued at the same time as the OL. The OL deals with financial matters so inability to pay salaries would appear to fall into their remit The UK CAA website says "Once a licence is granted, the CAA will in most cases continue to monitor their finances and may revoke the licence of any licence holder that it considers no longer has sufficient resources to carry on its business" This is for Class A i.e 20 seats & above, for Class B, 19 seats & below, there is less financial oversight, but still think they should be interested, as if they can't pay crews, what else are they not paying for (i.e maintenance)

The finances of the company concerned are rock bottom and definately do affect their maintenance. It is a pity that EASA do not keep better oversight of such companies. This one in particular would be shut down.

Its up to your Post Holders to call the Accountable Manager to account for these deficencies.
