A Military Heli pilot unfreezing a JAR ATPL(A)
 

As a military helicopter pilot with about 500hrs FW experience, 3700 rotary and a recent JAR fATPL(A) I am about to embark on a career in the airlines.

Having looked at LASORS I can see no information about if or how I can use my multi engine/pilot rotary hours towards unfreezing my ATPL - does anyone have any experience with this or know the best way to check?

I don't know the answer, but ask BEagle here on PPrune - he'll know.

Not certain about this but I believe you will have to achieve 1500 hours fixed wing, to include a specified amount of time 'In Command' (which you may have, think it is about 250 hours), about 100 hours night flying fixed wing, a current IR and so on. As you are probably looking at an FO slot with the airlines you really don't have a problem yet as by the time you need your ATPL for a command you will probably have more than enough FW hours.

Although I'm not worried about unfreezing the ATPL prior to being ready for a command - the company I'm looking to work for offers a pay increase once your licence is unfrozen and - obviously - I'd like this to happen sooner rather than later. If any of my rotary hours (I had heard a rumour of half the allowance) could count towards the 1500 I'd be happy!

Up to 50% of the 1500 hours and each of the
requirements specified in G1.2 a (500 hours Multi-Pilot operations), b (500 hours as P-i-C), c (200 hours Cross-country flight time), d (75 hours Instrument time) & en (100 hours Night flight PIC or as Co-Pilot) above may be completed in helicopters.
